I am an early media major student, so what I want to do exactly has not been clear to me but my recent trip to the Museum of Moving Image has made a few ideas come into focus. I "ABSOLUTLEY” loved the production studio. There they had a sports production studio. I have never seen one in person but when I did I felt something go off. The other exhibits were great, the audio visual, the artifacts and the video games, but the production studio was special. What I saw, were the many stories that I could create from a live event while having the responsibility to capture what is happening. By responsibility I mean letting the story tell itself but enhancing it with graphics, images and commentary when needed. I might be getting ahead of myself about directing a production but I would enjoy assisting in the process, and it doesn’t matter to me if it is a sporting event. I would actually prefer to be in a production studio of a talk show that deals with many topics and emotions, and different locations. The idea of having to do it live excites me because of the fast decision making and execution that is needed in that environment. I have always been fascinated by behind the scenes work but never considered studio production, this exhibit has made an impression on me that hopefully will lead to something more.
